Cabernet Sauvignon
2010 Napa Valley Estate
Winemaker notes:
The same structure, finesse, and purity of fruit that have long characterized Storybook Mountain Zinfandels are evident in our Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. These qualities reflect the estate vineyard’s relatively cool climate, its clay-loam soils, and its easterly and northerly exposures. The style of the wines also reflects our preference for wines of moderate alcohol, intense, focused fruit and exemplary balance.
Tasting notes:
Vineyard:
The magic paradigm matching grape and terroir has always been our goal. Since 1994, we have selected the coolest areas and lightest soils as best for Cabernet Sauvignon, lower sections with heavier soils as ideal for Merlot, and appropriate hills and hollows for Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Different clones, rootstocks and cultural practices provide further fine tuning for each site. The result? As one reviewer put it, “over achieving Cabernet” has joined classic Zinfandel at Storybook Mountain.
